Heimlich maneuver
Dr. Henry Heimlich became director of surgery at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, and in 1977 he became a professor of advanced clinical sciences at Xavier University. An accomplished thoracic surgeon, his name became known for the simple move he developed to help a person who is choking.
