Better Housing League
Setty Swarts Kuhn started Cincinnati’s Better Housing League in 1916. The organization documented living conditions in Cincinnati’s crowded basin communities and advocated for upgrades to make living conditions safe and sanitary. She corresponded with fellow reformer Jane Addams, who founded the Hull House settlement in Chicago.
